Publication Ethics

Arborescent Journal is an official scientific publication that publishes research papers covering Fisheries Sciences that have never been published before. This scientific code of ethics statement is a statement of all parties involved in the publication process of research journals related to Fisheries Sciences including managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. This scientific publication code of ethics statement is based on the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. Scientific publication ethics uphold three ethical values ​​in publication, namely (i) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in managing publications; (ii) Justice, which is giving authorship rights to those entitled as authors/writers; and (iii) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publication. In order to avoid plagiarism, every manuscript submitted will be further checked with the plagiarism checker application, namely Turnitin. Journal Manager Duties and Responsibilities

Determine the journal name, scope of science, periodicity, and accreditation submission if necessary. Determine the membership of the editorial board.
Define the relationship between publishers, editors, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and peer reviewers.
Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
Conduct journal policy reviews and convey them to authors/writers, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and readers.
Create guidelines for rules and ethical behavior for editors and peer reviewers.
Publish journals regularly.
Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication.
Build a network of collaboration between research institutions and related agencies
Prepare permits and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

Meeting the needs of readers and authors, striving to continuously improve the quality of publications,
Implementing a process to ensure the quality of published writings,
Prioritizing freedom of opinion objectively,
Maintaining the integrity of the author's academic track record,
Submitting corrections, clarifications, and apologies when necessary,
Being responsible for the style and format of writing scientific papers, while the content and all statements in the writing are the responsibility of the author,
Actively soliciting opinions from authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications,
Conducting periodic internal evaluations of the quality of scientific journals
Supporting author initiatives on publication ethics by including a clearance form in each manuscript submission
Being open-minded to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions for the advancement of science,
Avoiding objective decisions by not defending one's own opinion, the author or third party by seeking a solution that is scientifically accountable,
Encouraging authors to improve their writings until they are worthy of publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners (Reviewers)

Reviewing written works and submitting the results of the review to the editor, as a material for determining the suitability of a written work for publication,
Reviewers do not conduct scientific reviews of written works that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly,
Providing suggestions, input and positive recommendations for scientific written manuscripts,
Maintaining the privacy of authors by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations for a manuscript,
Encouraging authors to make improvements to written works,
Reviewing written works that have been revised according to predetermined standards,
Written works are reviewed on time according to the style of the publication environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions, etc.) that have been set.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

Ensuring that those included in the list of authors have met the criteria as authors,
Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
State the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
Explaining limitations in the research.
Responding to comments made by peer reviewers and the editorial board in a professional, scientific and timely manner.
Informing the editor in writing if they will withdraw their paper.
Making a statement that the paper submitted for publication is original, and has never been published anywhere and in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
