VARIASI GAYA MENGAJAR GURU PADA ANAK BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS DI SLB NEGERI TOLITOLI
Abstract
This study aims to describe and analyze the variations in teaching styles applied by teachers in educating children with special needs, particularly students with moderate intellectual disabilities (tunagrahita) in grade IV at SLB Negeri Tolitoli. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that teachers effectively applied six types of teaching variations: voice modulation, focusing attention, purposeful silence, eye contact and movement, body and facial gestures, and changing teaching positions. Supporting factors include the teacher’s pedagogical competence and the availability of teaching media, while inhibiting factors include environmental noise and lack of parental support. This research underscores the importance of diverse teaching styles in fostering active participation and learning comfort for children with special needs. It is expected that these findings serve as a reference for teachers and educational institutions to improve the quality of inclusive education
